Stage 2: Light-Independent Reactions

In the second stage of photosynthesis, also known as the Calvin cycle, carbon dioxide from the air enters the chloroplasts through small pores called stomata located on the leaves. The energy from ATP and NADPH produced during the first stage of photosynthesis is used to convert carbon dioxide into glucose.
